What we collect
When you sign up, we collect your email address and account credentials. If you upload a LinkedIn data export, we store your connection names, titles, companies, and profile URLs to power search. We do not store your LinkedIn password.
How your network is shared
Your LinkedIn connections are only visible to friends you connect with on knowswho. They are not public and are not shared with users who are not your friends on the platform.
Claude connector & MCP access
If you connect knowswho to Claude (or another MCP client via OAuth or a personal access token), we process your search queries, connection metadata, intro request details, and friend network scope needed to fulfill each tool call. We do not send Claude your full connection database — only ranked search results and status summaries relevant to each request.
OAuth access can be revoked by disconnecting the connector in Claude or revoking tokens in Settings.
Third-party services
We use the following subprocessors to operate knowswho:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (United States)
- Together AI — text embeddings for semantic search (United States)
- PostHog — product analytics (United States; optional, no message contents)
- Resend — transactional email for intro notifications (United States)
- Vercel — application hosting (United States)
These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service. We do not sell your personal data.
How we use your data
We use your data to power semantic search over networks, facilitate warm intro requests between friends, and improve search quality. We do not sell your personal data.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings. When you disconnect from a friend, they lose access to your network data. OAuth tokens expire automatically; revoked tokens are invalidated immediately.
